- Design of traffic signs to TSRGD, TSM and BS EN 12899 using KeySign, Signplot
and custom excel spreadsheets, including appropriate sign deployment,
consideration of appropriate sign sizes and ‘X’ heights, configuration of legend
blocks to fit the installation location, consistency with existing signs and
minimising sign clutter.
- Design of sign support structures to BS EN 12899 and the National Annex,
including ultimate design load, choice of suitable support, capacity checks,
deflection calculations, spread and planted foundation design to BS 8002/8004
and BD 94/07 respectively.
- Consideration of Passive Safety using BS EN 12767 and the National Annex.
- Consideration of traffic management to TSM Ch8.
- Compliance with MCHW Series 1200.
- Signing strategy, from minor schemes for individual destinations, to district wide
projects to projects on a strategic scale on trunk roads.
- Management of the supply chain from order to implementation.
- Site supervision of erection crews, including setting out, installation conformity
with design, quality control and remedial action lists.
